Overlapping #5, 2009

Overlapping #5 is an interplay of gradations of lines and colors. It refers to a extremely simple form, a rectangle, the symbolic shape for image and vision. It has no regular profile, its contour is broken as well as the space in its interior and it seems to be affected by some kind of displacement or rotation towards different directions, to the interior as well as to the outside. It is difficult to trace a continuity because all lines or directions cut or get interrupted at some point, so there seems to be no logics in the spatial construction. However the idea of depth, of an undefined but still a deep space is quite strong in this composition. It aims for a blurred and unstable vision, that needs to be completed by each individual´s perception.
