Press #1 is built as a selection of images collected from newspapers based upon formal features. Most images have an organic, structural component, sometimes a consequence of a certain action or accident. They have been cropped from larger images, so the original context which gave meaning to them is lost and they remain as details, forms or undated events, although in some cases, one can still recognize the original picture (war scenes, outer space shots, nature photography, etc). The idea behind this work is to separate the image from the original message to neutralize and give a more universal, undatable perspective to what we are looking at.
