Drawing in 6 parts, oil on paper
100 x 408 cm
Untitled (Praha) is not a representation of a particular feature of the city of Prague, but a development of subjective impressions about the city and the act of drawing. While making the image, the procedural aspects of drawing - both mental and technical- were as essential as the perceptions arosed from the artist’s experience and imagination of the place. Therefore the image is more a reflection of a subjective temporal experience than an evocation of a specific place. The drawing was made specifically for one of the walls of the Presidential Lounge space at National Gallery’s Trade Fair Palace building in Prage on the occasion of a solo exhibition entitled Surface, that put together several elements carefully distributed in space, that had resulted from the action of erasing, eroding or wasting a prior structure until obtaining a unique image object.
